- I'm a 7th grade Social Studies teacher on Team Da Bears at Cedar River Middle School. I've been a teacher at Cedar River for 6 years. I reside in Maple Valley and currently have two kids who are also students in the district. My goal as a social studies teacher is to help prepare students for active civic paricipation. An important responsibility of citizenship is to be educated on the issues facing our society and to be invloved in our community so that our voice can be heard. This forum can be a place where students can practice expressing their views and learn from others. This blog may even provide some insights on how to address the current issues we face and may play a small part in helping make the world a better place.

yes but it has to also has to be modled so the student understands just as kids learn not to sweaw if pepole around them do not swear
